What's The Story

At the start of the year Alex joined Green Curtain Theatre company for a festival of plays celebrating Irish contributions to Britain.

"What's The Story?" by Maureen Alcorn centred around two Irish nurses stationed at a TB hospital in Lewisham who, in a heroic true story, saved the lives of 17 patients after the hospital was struck with a bomb.

Alex played Bert, a journalist who was unable to follow his brother to the war due to his polio, which he had contracted as a child.

The play was performed at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre and the Bread and Roses Theatre. There was also a special one off performance at the Lewisham Irish Community Centre, just a stones throw from the hospital in question.
